5 Steps to Achieving The Clean Girl Makeup

The clean girl aesthetic has been around for very long, but it was recently named as the “clean girl aesthetic”. Ok, but what does the clean girl aesthetic mean?

The clean girl aesthetic is basically those who look effortlessly flawless, they look so put together yet simple. It doesn’t necessary mean that they haven’t spend hours getting ready, but they took the shortcut to achieving the clean look

In this post I’ll be sharing 5 steps to achieving the clean girl makeup, which will get you a step closer to the overall clean girl aesthetic

1. Moisturized Skin

It is very important to start with a solid moisturizer, as it sets the tone for the rest of the look

Having moisturized and plump skin is the very first step, not only in achieving a clean girl makeup, but in all makeup looks in general

There are plenty of moisturizers out there, so make sure that you try out different moisturizers and choose the one that fulfills your skin’s needs

2. Light Concealer

The clean girl makeup is all about being natural and enhancing your natural beauty

Avoid those concealers and foundations that make the skin look cakey. Try to only put concealer on and not anything more, since you want the finished look to be natural. Conceal any blemish or hyperpigmentation, without over-concealing

If you want more coverage than just using a concealer, then use tinted moisturizer or BB cream!

3. Brushed Brows

This step is quite easy, as you want to stick to your natural brows without making them look too perfect

The easiest way to achieve clean girl brows, is to use a brow gel and brush your brows upwards. You can fill any empty spots, but avoid over-filling the brows to maintain the clean girl look

4. Liquid Blush and Bronzer

This is the fun step!

I specified liquid, as opposed to powder, since liquid products give the face a more natural and dewy look. Use a blush that complements your skin, and looks natural

A mauve shade is always a great one to go with, I recommend the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush, as it’s the best one I’ve used this far. Use a tiny bit on the apples of your cheeks and blend it upwards

As for the bronzer, you want to use a bronzer that will give you a sun-kissed look, but use just a bit of bronzer on the cheekbones to lift them up

Take the same bronzer and apply it to the eyelids, then apply a darker brown to smoke out the corners of the eyes. Lastly, apply a little bit of mascara

5. Natural Glossy Lips

Last but not least, are the lips!

When it comes to lipstick, try to stick to nude colours

Start off by lining your lips with a shade that is close to your natural lip colour or a brownish shade, then dap a little bit of a nude liquid lipstick, finally finish the look by applying a natural-coloured gloss to your lips

It is quite simple to achieve a clean girl makeup, as you won’t need as many products as you would for other makeup looks
